Meet Ben Clay
Ben Clay is a dedicated and passionate candidate running for the St. Martin Parish Council, District 8. A quintessential son of St. Martin, Ben’s roots run deep in this parish that he loves and calls home.
Ben Clay was born and raised in Cecilia, an intimate community in St. Martin Parish. His story is as local as the streets he grew up on; he graduated from Cecilia High School and furthered his education at South Louisiana Community College. There, he earned his Associate of Science in Industrial Technology and a Certificate in General Studies, setting the foundation for his professional career.
Since 1993, Ben has been providing security and monitoring services to residents and businesses in the community, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to safeguarding his community. His professional life echoes his personal beliefs: safety, integrity, and dedication.
Volunteer work is integral to Ben’s character. He’s served as a volunteer for the St Martin Parish Fire District, has coached for Cecilia Youth, and was a past committee member for the St. Martin Parish Ducks Unlimited. His commitment to serving the community extends to his role as a Reserve Deputy with the rank of a Lieutenant for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, demonstrating a tireless dedication to upholding law and order.
Ben is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, embracing the rights and freedoms it safeguards. This commitment underscores his belief in individual liberty and personal responsibility, hallmarks of his candidacy.
As a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Ben’s faith guides him in his everyday life. It reinforces his commitment to service, community, and family.
Speaking of family, Ben has been married for 20 years and is a proud father to Emily and Tucker. His parents, Patrick and Deanna Naquin Clay, have been instrumental in shaping the man he is today. And yes, Ben has a twin brother — another unique chapter in his life’s story.
